The Literacy Expo was held on
International Literacy Day
Friday, September 7 from 1- 4 p.m.
at the Palm Beach Airport Hilton in West Palm Beach.
Presenting Speaker:
Dr. Timothy Shanahan addressed the audience. Dr. Shanahan is the former President of the International Reading Association, Director of the University of Illinois (at Chicago) Center for Literacy, Chair of the National Early Literacy Panel and the National Literacy Panel on Language Minority Children and Youth.
Over 30 literacy providers and partners displayed information about their work. Mayor Karen Golonka of Jupiter and Mayor Joe Russo of PGA were honored as the newest additions to the Coalition's Mayors' Literacy Initiative.
