OUR MISSION

The mission of the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition is to improve the quality of life in our community by promoting and achieving literacy. Our goal is universal literacy in Palm Beach County to ensure that every child and every adult becomes A READER.

The Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition is a non-profit organization that includes literacy providers, media, area businesses and concerned citizens. The Coalition works with other organizations in its continuing efforts to open new worlds to adults and children with literacy needs in our community.

In Palm Beach County, 22% of adults function at the lowest level of literacy and 40% of our children enter fourth grade unable to read at grade level. To address these needs, the Literacy Coalition coordinates a variety of literacy programs as illustrated by clicking on the Programs link at the top of the page.
