You do not need a teaching background to be a tutor. You will participate in basic tutor training sessions that will introduce various approaches to teaching reading, goal setting. lesson planning, critical thinking and more.

Where do the tutor and students meet to conduct their lessons?
Tutors and students meet in public places such as libraries and schools.

Simply call the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition at 1-800-273-1030 or click here to sign up for tutor training. You will learn basic tutoring techniques and after the training you will be matched with a student and a convenient site.
